I figured out the best way to clean an enameled cast iron sink. Is your sink like mine, where after you load the dishwasher, your sink still looks gross? I figured out a combination that leaves my Kohler enameled cast iron sink looking as clean as the day it was installed.

One fork is all it takes for a kitchen sink to go from clean to dirty (sometimes, I’ll clean my sink and tell everyone to eat off paper towels for the rest of the day). But even worse, my pans leave scuff marks on the bottom of my enamel sink.
My foolproof method for cleaning my cast-iron kitchen sink is using Bar Keepers Friend with a Magic Eraser, which works every time. I’ve never met a scuff mark I couldn’t beat.
The first thing I do is sprinkle the powder over the bottom of my sink, and instead of using a scrub brush or rag, I use a magic eraser to rub the powder into the stains.
After that, I rinse everything with water, and I’m left with a beautiful, shiny clean sink for about an hour until lunchtime.
A follower of mine on Instagram suggested I use a sink grid. I think that’s a great idea for some people, but for me, it’s just one more thing to clean.
This method even works on stainless steel sinks!
I sure do love a clean kitchen.
I just built, installed, and painted those cabinets myself. Check out this post if you want to see how I did that.
Also, did you notice the marble countertops? I made those for a fraction of the cost of real marble. For the full tutorial, check out the e-book I wrote.
Do you have any kitchen cleaning hacks you’d care to share? I’d love to hear about them to see if they work for me!
Think this would work on a bathtub? Any tips on a tub that’s been resurfaced that’s flaking? TIA Amber
