My smoked brisket nachos recipe is a must try dish for the summer. It comes together so quickly and easily. You can make these brisket nachos for a weeknight dinner, or even as an appetizer for a weekend BBQ with friends. So yummy and so versatile.
First, to make smoked brisket nachos, you’ll need to have some smoked brisket. I always buy a giant brisket from Costco, smoke it using my smoked brisket recipe, then freeze it into smaller portions that I can have on hand for making dishes like this brisket nachos recipe. So, check out my smoked brisket recipe here, if you haven’t already.
Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 12- 15 mins
Feel free to adjust the ingredients based on your own personal tastes. The sky’s the limit.
Preheat your oven to 350° F.
Layer tortilla chips of your choice on a sheet pan. I love these multigrain tortilla chips that I used here.
Next, sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese over the tortilla chips.
My recipe for smoked brisket results in a super tender and soft brisket that just falls apart. I shredded some of the brisket and mixed it together with BBQ sauce. Then dropped spoonfuls of the brisket/BBQ sauce mixture on top of the cheese and chips.
Next, pile on another layer of chips and sprinkle on another layer of cheese.
Pop the pan into your oven that you already heated to 350° F. You just want to leave it in long enough for the cheese to be good and melted. It typically takes 12-15 mins.
Once I pulled the brisket nachos out of the oven, I added a few more ingredients to the top starting with more of the smoked brisket and BBQ sauce mixture.
Now that it’s out of the oven I can add all the fresh ingredients like some diced tomatoes and red onion, as well as a little freshly chopped cilantro. Lastly to finish off the brisket nachos recipe, I dropped some spoonfuls of sour cream all over.
Time to dive in! Making nachos in the oven like this is so good. The chips are warm, the cheese is melty, the brisket is tender! So delish!!
Feel free to go crazy with the toppings of your choice. Diced jalapeños, sliced olives, salsa, guacamole, or even fresh avocado, are all great options for topping your brisket nachos. This is an easy summer meal that can accommodate even the pickiest eaters in your house.
