My mom’s turkey gravy has always been one of the stars of our Thanksgiving meal. It’s a basic recipe, but the flavor can change slightly depending on how the turkey is prepared. And yet, somehow, it’s always so delicious you can drink the stuff right out of the gravy dish.
Here’s my favorite recipe for Garlic Mashed Potatoes that are so yummy with this gravy.

Total time: 15 minutes
Servings: Varies depending on the quantity of turkey drippings
Use reserved juices from a turkey and add it to a saucepan. Add chicken stock if more gravy is needed.
Mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold water. Add it to the drippings to thicken. More cornstarch can be added for the desired thickness, mixing 2 tablespoons at a time with water.
Bring to a boil and season with 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Don’t be caught drinking it from the gravy dish.
