Classic and Tasty Steamed Carrots

Every single time I make these simple steamed carrots for guests, I always get compliments, and it’s always a little perplexing. How could something so simple be THAT good? Maybe it’s that extra dash of love I put into it, but other than that I guess the secret is just regular old Italian seasoning.

These steamed carrots are super simple and can be done from start to finish in about 20 minutes. I can’t wait for you to give it a try!

Total time: 20 minutes

Servings 6-8

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs carrots, cut into 1/2-in strips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Step 1

Steam or boil carrots until fork tender. I used my rice cooker that comes with a steam basket (here’s the new and improved version that’s super inexpensive) and left the carrots unpeeled, but you can certainly peel them first if you want.
