I’m a stay-at-home mom turned home design and DIY expert. I've discovered the thrill of creating a beautiful, functional home, and I'm here to inspire and teach you to do the same
It’s always the simplest dishes that surprise me the most. Every time I serve these steamed carrots, guests rave about them—and I’m left chuckling because they’re so easy to make. Maybe it’s the buttery finish, the hint of Italian seasoning, or just the love stirred in. Whatever it is, these carrots have become a staple at our table.
Uniform Cuts: Slice the carrots evenly to ensure they cook at the same rate.
Steam, Don’t Boil: Steaming preserves more nutrients and keeps the carrots’ natural sweetness intact.
Season While Hot: Add butter and seasoning immediately after steaming so they melt and distribute evenly.
These steamed carrots are super simple and can be done from start to finish in about 20 minutes. I can’t wait for you to give it a try!

Step 1 – Chop and Steam the Carrots
Steam or boil carrots until fork tender. I used my rice cooker that comes with a steam basket (here’s the new and improved version that’s super inexpensive) and left the carrots unpeeled, but you can certainly peel them first if you want.
Step 2 – Add Butter and Seasonings
Add butter and stir into hot carrots until completely melted. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
Step 3 – Enjoy!
These steamed carrots are more than just a side dish; they’re a testament to how simple ingredients can create memorable flavors. I hope they become a favorite in your home as they have in mine.
