Looking for a quick and easy carnivore diet breakfast? You’re in the right place! My family has been eating about 80% carnivore lately, and let me tell you—these chaffles are on constant rotation in our house. These high-protein low-carb waffles aren’t just a breakfast staple; they double as burger buns, sandwich bread, and so much more.
These chaffles (sometimes called cheese waffles or carnivore waffles) require just two ingredients. Yep, that’s it! Mozzarella cheese and eggs. That’s all you need to whip up these crispy, golden, protein-packed chaffles for a yummy carnivore diet breakfast.
My go-to ratio is:
3 eggs
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
But you can adjust that as you wish depending on if you like them a little eggy-er or a little cheesy-er.
At first, I relied on the waffle maker’s light indicator, but I found it overcooked my chaffles, making them too crispy. Now, I set a 2-minute timer, but the time may vary depending on your waffle iron.
Feel free to adjust the ratio of eggs and cheese based on your own tastes. The ratio I follow gives me about seven or eight chaffles, depending on how full I fill each spot on my waffle maker.
Ways to Enjoy Your Chaffles

Can I use a different type of cheese?
Yes! While mozzarella gives a mild flavor and great texture, you can try cheddar for a sharper taste or parmesan for extra crispiness.
Can I make chaffles in advance?
Absolutely! Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze them with parchment paper between each one. Reheat in a toaster or air fryer for the best crispiness.
What waffle maker do you recommend?
A mini waffle maker (like the Dash Mini Waffle Maker) works great for smaller chaffles, but a standard-sized waffle maker can also be used!
