Alright, let’s talk baby names.
Naming a human is a big deal, and we have a few rules. And by “we” I actually mean Stuart. First, no repeating names from family or close friends. Which, if you know anything about my massive family, you might know how hard of a rule that is to follow. Second, we love classic names—real, actual names—not trendy, made-up words. But the problem? We don’t love a lot of the “classic” boy names out there. Henry? Charles? Winston? They’re fine… just not for us.
So, what are we actually considering? Here’s our current shortlist:
And because we always do middle names, we’re also thinking about how these pair with our last name and potential middle names. So far we have Malcom Aaron (Malcom is Stuart’s middle name and Aaron is from our long-time friend who was responsible for talking Stuart into giving me another chance).
Names that are off the table:
We’re probably not going the pop culture route, so no Harry Potter characters or anything too tied to a particular moment in time.
I mentioned that Stuart isn’t into repeating family names. And let me tell you, with a big family, that list is long. So, for fun—and to save you from accidentally suggesting one—I’m including the names that are officially off-limits below.
Naming a baby is basically an ongoing debate that lasts for nine months.
So tell me—what’s your favorite from our list? Or do you have a name suggestion that fits our vibe? I’d love to hear it!

Wyatt is my favorite out of all the names. Some other names to consider for this baby or a later one that aren’t on your family list: Emerson, Everett, Dante, Lucas, Andre, Joel, Damien, Bruno, Royce, Cameron. Good luck choosing!

Elliot, Carter, Owen, Brody, Brock, Lucca or Luka, Forrest, Gray
I love Wyatt and Logan
Maxwell, Tristen, Callum, Griffin, Hudson, Trent, Graham, Ezra, Chandler, Spencer,
Josiah (the Lord supports) or Asa (Physician)
I love Roman, but I may be biased because I have one! His twin brother is Viggo and his 2 older brothers are Harvey and Hugo. There’s 1 sister in the bunch too – Maaike (pronounced like Micah – it’s the Dutch name of my Beppe
).

I put Chagpt to the test with all your exclusions and this is what it came up with!
First Name Ideas:
Silas – Has a strong, vintage feel without being too common.
Hugo – Classic, a bit European, and underused.
Felix – Means “happy” or “fortunate,” and has a timeless feel.
Jonah – A softer biblical name that pairs well with a variety of middle names.
Graham – Understated but classic.
Alden – Old-fashioned yet fresh.
Nolan – A strong but warm-sounding name.
Jude – Short, simple, and classic without being overused.
Desmond – Distinguished but not stuffy.
Elias – A classic name with a softer touch than Elijah.
Middle Name Ideas (to pair with the first names or your existing shortlist):
Everett – Flows well with a variety of first names.
August – Has a timeless yet modern feel.
Theodore – A solid choice if you don’t mind a longer middle.
Gideon – If you want a biblical name with a bit of flair.
Louis – Classic but underused.
A few possible combos:
Wyatt Elias
Milo August
Silas Roman
Jonah Malcom
Nolan Everett
Our favorite boy names are Barrett Anthony, Graham Scott, Emiliano and Mateo. Our favorite girl names are Ophelia June, Maeve and Maryn. This is our 4th baby and we’re having a 3rd girl, we currently have Ariya Josephine and Liana Pearl. This baby is Ophelia June
I love Wyatt! Surprised there is no Matthew on either side of that family yet!
I have a Rowan and a Deklan.
My son’s name is Cameron James (I know you don’t like James, but I’m not going to change it now!
) and if I had another boy I loved Jameson Edward (Edward would have been after my grandfather). Good luck! Naming babies is hard!
Hi yes I think the name Roman is a great name and it matches with Malcom Aaron Montenegro.
For a boy, how about Brock or Martin. Even Brock Martin. Girl, Leah Rose. Just some suggestions.
Asher, Moses (I do know of a young man with this name), Isaiah, Dwight, Wendell, Frank, Edward, Arlan, Kirk, Christopher, Walter (my grandfather’s name), Nelson (my son’s middle name and my maiden name), Lee (my husband’s middle name). My grandson’s middle name is Elon (he’s 15 so Mr. Musk had nothing to do with it – pronounced Ee-lun, named after my great uncle who was a minister in Sweden).
What about Josiah its a biblical name
I love Roman with Montenegro! Jonah, Jackson, Jullian, Dillon/Dylan, and Damian are some more to consider! Names are hard.
I love those options! Thank you!
Titan , Jasper, Easton. Bentley, Henry,
Shaxzten (Shax) for short, Jack, Archer, this years boys name in my class there might be some on your list I repeated tried not to. Leeland, Leo,
Perry, Kyle, Eddie, Milton, Howard, from other kinder classes good luck’s
Garrett/Gareth/Garth
Well, as a mom of 5 boys, all my names are up for grabs. Ha!! Ashton Mitchell, Brady Weston, Ethan Riley, Kalin Wesley, Trent Lance. After the 3rd boy, we didn’t even bother with girl names. And, we never found out the gender ahead of time. I just knew they were all boys. We gave first names we both liked and middle names were meaningful/family history additions. Good luck!
I love Lorenzo and Roman. They blend really well with Montenegro. They are strong and intelligent names.
Also, they likely wouldn’t have classmates with those names, which is nice.
Levi came to mind and seems to fit your vibe
Devin?
Love Wyatt and Micah. When I was adopting my youngest, my oldest – then 2 to 2.5 years old, wanted to name her baby sister Nemo, or Bronco! She did not win that battle
Boy Names…. Jackson, Jack, Sawyer, Wesley.
P.S. Sending all the best to you and your beautiful family.
We have a Matthias and Maximus. Currently pregnant with boy #3. Malachi and Malkiel are the current top runners!
As far as names not on your list, in our family we’ve got a Levi, Gabe, Max, and Matthew.

I’m surprised to see Jack isn’t on the already used name list! It’s shorter than your kids names, but still classic. One of my boys is Wynn, so I was going to suggest that but was super surprised to see it used with the same spelling and everything!
Weston,Watson,Myles,Jax,Dale
Milo Mason Montenegro – has a nice ring!
How about Manning? Manning Montenegro. T
Neville Longbottom

Bennett
Graham
Miles
Owen
I like Wyatt the best. My grandson is named Wiley I wish They had picked Wyatt instead
I have a Milo who is 14 years old now and I will say that mild and peaceful do fit him for the most part. He is a sweet, tender-hearted boy. Milo has my vote!
Ethan
My girls are Ella Ruby & Madison Grace. Looking at your list & thinking, (I’m not very creative though) about boys names. Kerryn, Selwyn (my husband!) James nickname Jimmy or Jamie, Jarred, Cooper, Max, Corey, Caleb, Ethan. A new baby is exciting. I’ve been following you on instagram for a long time & it’s been interesting seeing the changes you’ve had in this pregnancy. I had terrible hyperenemsis with both my kids, in & out of hospital. It’s exactly why I only had 2 kids my body couldn’t do another HG pregnancy
Milo is a great name. sounds like a name that would really go well your last name. I also like Micah. Good luck there’s not many names out there that’s left.

Ezra. Scott. Hyrum. Leif.
I didn’t see Owen or Evan
those our our boys names, I wanted classic and not trendy or popular names. Names are hard, best of luck with the decision making
From your shortlist, I like Milo (a friend of mine has a son named Milo), and I like Wyatt. I’m glad you are discussing names NOW. My nephew and his wife just had a baby boy yesterday. They already have two girls. They are sure discussing names. One thing I do not like is when a son is named “Dad’s name”, Jr. I think each child should have his or her own unique names, but that’s just me. Good luck deciding! It’s an important thing to do.
Blake
Benton/Benten/Bentyn
Carter (Micah Carter, Milo Carter,Roman Carter)
Noah (Noah Carter/Carter Noah, Noah Roman/Roman Noah)
I love Noah and Carter for a girl too.

Middle Names:
Alexander
Zachary
Jackson
I like Wyatt, or Micah. Our son Joshua’s middle name is Wyatt.
But You have to do what is right for your family.
I have always loved the name Matthew for a boy. I think it would sound great with your middle name idea of Aaron
Matthew (Matty) Aaron
I know these don’t fit your vibe but I was surprised to see neither of your lists had any of my sons or grandson’s names!
Bronson
Jackson
Carson
Orson
Eileen Marie
Jedadiah James
I think Roman Montenegro sounds really great! Another option would be the name “Christian”. Best of luck choosing!
Our youngest son is Tobias and we call him Toby. We love it!!
I actually love all the names on your short list. They’re not top ten names which makes it easier for the kiddo in school. And they’re good solid names. Congratulations again!!
Micah James Montenegro is so cute!!
I almost named my son Roman, however, a sister in my congregation had named her son Roman, so I had to choose another name. But I love Roman. I also like Lorenzo.
I like Malcom Aaron for the reason you stayed or
Lorenzo Malcom or Aaron Lorenzo
Or Lorenzo Aaron.
Ugh its so hard! And theres so many names that are beautiful, that are on your no go list. We picked up a few vintage baby books, not the ones published in the last 10 years, I mean published in the 1920s-40s. When I found out we were having a son, I wanted to be able to give him a name that sounded polished, if he were to run for president, or strong if he decided to play pro football. (Idk, just crazy pregnancy thoughts right?) We settled on Thayer. And being an interior designer, it was a nod to one of my favorite furniture designers. Now at three years old he goes by Tater, or Tay but I’m sure time will change that. Good luck!
Two of my boy names show on your lists but the other two do not! We have a Matthew and a Spencer!
I don’t see Julian and Peter on the list, so those are my suggestions. That is quite the list of names!
I love simple, solid names—Max or Jack are my favorites, and they sound awesome with Lorenzo in the middle. Jack Lorenzo Montenegro or Max Lorenzo Montenegro? So good! I also really like Samuel (Sam). Naming a baby is such a cool process, and let’s be honest—everyone’s got an opinion.
But I already love the names you’ve chosen for your other kids, so I know whatever you pick this time will be just as great. Can’t wait to see what you decide!
How about Grafton?
Grafton is that little ghost town just outside of Zion National Park.
If I’d have had another bit, that was his name – loooove it.
Graf for short.
Clayton, Christopher (or a play off of that like Christof) those are more classic and flow nicely with your last name.
Zane or Zeke
Milo is the sweetest name. I hope it wins!
My boys:
Aaron
Adam
Jesse ( passed away in 2013)
and Jesse grandson is coming in July!
I vote:
Miles/Milo
Names are so hard! My son is Heath Ryder and we love it! Normal but uncommon. My friend has 3 boys with umcommon but not weird names I love too, Wyatt, Oliver, Asher. I think Jonah and Curtis could also be great!
Archer, (Archie) , Anders (Andy) , Bradley (Brad)
Levi
Amanda
Alden Xander Zander Dalyon Daxton
Daylen Ethan Simon Heber Royce
These are some names in our family
. except Zander
Ronan, Truett, Bear, Nelson,
Ronan
Truett
Bear
Nelson
You do have a Nathan but not a Nathaniel. Also no Corey listed. Our neighbor’s son is Rohan.
Good luck!
Roman.
Micah Montenegro

Matthew.
Our 4 boys all have Biblical first names and middle names after someone in our families.
Oh my!!! Good luck with the naming of your future children!!! You may have to create your own.
Loving Milo!!!! However, I’d never rule out Nevel Longbottom Montenegro!!!!
I love Steven for a middle name with your short list. Wyatt Steven (Stephen). Strong brave warrior – crowned one.
Can’t believe no one has used Jackson yet! Actually none of my children’s names are on either list.
Tate (my other son’s name) is my all time favorite boy name- but probably not fitting with your traditional name vibe.
I
Love baby naming. I’ll throw Hudson in the mix. I don’t know if its classic, but it doesn’t feel trendy.
Micah Adriel. Adriel was in King David’s army.
Levi is what we were going to use if our daughter was a boy. I wanted to pronounced it Lay-vee.
Trevor… like my mom said finally a good Welsh name
Name suggestions
Trent
Robert
Russell
Jeremy
Wyatt Henry Montenegro
Milo Edmund Montenegro
Micah Franklin Montenegro
Lorenzo Arthur Montenegro
Roman August Montenegro
I love Milo! I think that’s a perfect fit for your family! Milo Montenegro sounds awesome!!
Names are so hard! I like the name Landon for a boy.
We have a Levi Isaac…. not on either of your lists
